Hoosier motorists react to governor’s decision to extend gas tax suspension
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gov. Mike Braun declared a statewide energy emergency Wednesday, extending Indiana’s gas tax suspension through Sept. 5.
The emergency takes effect Friday and Braun said disruptions to global oil shipping lanes caused by the Russia-Ukraine war and Canadian wildfires prompted the decision as gas prices rise.
