INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — No injuries have been reported following a building fire on the city’s near north side, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.
The fire started at a large, vacant building in the 1100 block of East 22nd Street just before 8:40 a.m. Sunday.
News 8’s Hernan Gutierrez said the scene was still active as of 11 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the fire, but crews confirmed they are taking a defensive approach to contain and eventually put out the blaze.
IFD did not say if anyone was inside the building.
This is a developing story.
