FRANKFORT, Ky. (WISH) — A man from Indiana is dead after a crash on I-64 Sunday morning in Frankfort, Kentucky.

The Franklin County Coroner’s office has identified the individual as 30-year-old Ryan Ebler of Martinsville, Indiana.

Kentucky State Police were dispatched to locate a homicide suspect from Georgia at 9:16 a.m. on Jan. 10. On the way there, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle matching the suspects vehicle, a grey Honda Civic.

The vehicle failed to yield, initiating a high-speed chase with police. The pursuit continued northbound on I-70 and then westbound on I-64, entering Franklin county, where Frankfort Troopers picked up the suspect.

Ebler’s vehicle then crossed the median into oncoming traffic, striking a commercial motor vehicle traveling eastbound. The operator of the commercial vehicle, 50-year-old Marcus Boughten of Waco, TX., was uninjured in the collision.

Numerous attempts were made to end the pursuit using tire deflation devices.

The investigation of the crash remains ongoing.
