IURC investigates energy affordability

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission announced an investigation into energy affordability and utility costs on Wednesday.

The commission says rising utility bills are putting added pressure on already strained budgets for Indiana families and businesses. They launched their investigative inquiry under Gov. Mike Braun’s directive, calling on the state’s five largest investor-owned utilities to present on various topics related to energy affordability.

AES Indiana, CenterPoint Energy Indiana, Duke Energy, Indiana Michigan Power, and Northern Indiana Public Service Company will be the ones investigated.
