INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was convicted Tuesday for murder after shooting and killing his neighbor in March 2023.

On March 28, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a residence on Orion Avenue on the city’s east side. They found Thomas Baughman lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound.

Police say after a brief standoff, Zachariah Meehan of Indianapolis was taken into custody. During an interview with detectives, Meehan said that prior to the shooting, he confronted Baughman’s roommate near his mailbox and asked for Baughman to come outside.
