Indianapolis woman charged with threatening to kill U.S. representative

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis woman has been charged with two counts of influencing a federal official by threat.

According to a release by U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of Indiana, if convicted, Addison could face up to 10 years in federal prison.

According to court documents, at 8:53 a.m. Jan. 15, 28-year-old Shalya Addison sent five text messages to the campaign phone number of the representative, who’s name has not been released.

The messages included explicit threats to kill them, including statements such as “Come outside b**** we’ll kill you” and “Tread lightly.”
