INDOT works toward Friday opening of flood-damaged I-70

CENTERVILLE, Ind.–The Indiana Department of Transportation says their goal is to have I-70 westbound near Centerville Road (mile marker 146) opened at some point on Friday.

“Our crews have been working around the clock on repairing the flood damaged section of I-70 westbound in Wayne County. We were able to remove the washed out pavement and are now filling the area with stone. The goal is to pave later today (Thursday) and reopen the interstate at some point on Friday, August 14,” said INDOT in a social media post late Thursday morning.

A section of the roadway on S.R. 38 between Petty Street and Brick Church Road has been washed out by flooding. They also aim to have that open at some point on Friday.
