INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IU never held the lead and lost to Louisville, 87-78.
IU started the game down 16-0 and did not score their first points until over six minutes had passed. The Hoosiers were able to trim the Louisville lead down to five in the first half, but never got it any lower than that.
“They did a really good job early defensively,” IU head coach Darian DeVries said. “We couldn’t get loose. We couldn’t get a lot of space. We were competing defensively, but when you’re not scoring, it makes it really challenging.”

This is IU’s second straight loss after starting the season 7-0.

“I thought our guys composure even after the rough start, they continued to just battle and chip away, chip away… We could just never quite get over that hump to get us within a couple possessions,” Darian DeVries said.
Tucker DeVries led IU with 26 points and shot 5-14 from the field. Lamar Wilkerson had 12 points on 5-15 shooting.
