Prince Andrew’s royal reign has officially come to an end.
In a shocking and historic move, King Charles has stripped his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of all royal titles — including the title of “Prince” and “His Royal Highness.” Buckingham Palace confirmed the decision on Thursday, October 30, marking a major step in distancing the monarchy from Andrew following years of controversy.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”
The move means the Duke of York, 65, will no longer hold any of his lifelong honors — including his status as a member of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Victorian Order. He will also lose his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he has lived for decades.
“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation,” the palace said. “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
The statement concluded with a message of support for victims...
