Lawmakers, unions push for universal childcare in 2026

A coalition of unions, parents, and Democratic lawmakers rallied in Albany to demand that New York guarantee universal childcare, which would cost roughly $2 billion per year and save families about $4.4 billion per year while generating $26 billion by keeping parents employed within state lines.
