FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A man has been arrested after fatally striking a pedestrian during a vehicle chase with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD).

At 6:02 a.m. Thursday, a Fort Wayne officer attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of Lawton place and Griswold Drive. The vehicle failed to stop and instead began fleeing from officers. The fleeing vehicle circled the general area until 6:08 a.m., when the vehicle, which was now traveling eastbound on East Fourth Street, went to make a northbound turn onto Spy Run Avenue and struck a pedestrian in the roadway at that intersection.
