A man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of flashing multiple women — including groups of girls walking to high school — in several incidents in Escondido, police said.
The first reported instance occurred Dec. 18 when a woman walking through a parking lot on East Valley Parkway near Citrus Avenue saw a man driving a white Chevrolet Volt pull his car in front of her, roll down his driver side window and expose himself, said Escondido police Lt. Ryan Hicks.
The second incident occurred Jan. 14 around 8:30 a.m. on Glen Ridge Road near Orange Glen High School and involved a similar vehicle, Hicks said. Two girls said they were walking to campus when a man driving a white Chevrolet Volt got their attention on the side of the road and exposed himself from inside the car.
They reported the incident to school officials and police investigators were notified.
In a third incident the morning of Feb. 2, a group of three girls near the high school were also flashed in the same way, Hicks said. The girls were able to take photographs of the car and license before he drove away.
Escondido detectives, school resource officers as well as investigators from the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force reportedly identified a 49-year-old Escondido resident as the suspect, Hicks said.
He was booked Thursday into jail on multiple allegations of indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a child under 18.
