Man dead, two people injured in Grant County I-69 crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — One person has died following a crash on I-69 at mile-marker 247 near Gaston.

Grant County Sheriff Deputies responded to reports of a crash at around 6:30 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found 45-year-old Joseph A. Kidwell of Marion. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were injured in the crash and they were taken to local hospitals.

Deputies believe that Kidwell and his wife’s 1996 Chevy truck was broke down on the side of the interstate. A 2011 Chevy truck was passing a tractor-trailer and veering off the road hitting Kidwell’s truck.

Deputies say the investigation is still on going.
