Man dies in 3-car crash near Avon, off Rockville Road

AVON, Ind. (WISH) — A man died in a three-car crash happened at noon Wednesday east of Avon.

According to Hendricks County Sherriff’s Department, a semitruck was traveling eastbound on Rockville Road/U.S. 36 when it ran the red light at the intersection of County Road 525 East and struck a northbound Chevrolet pickup.

The impact caused the pickup to travel across the grass median where it struck a Chrysler Sebring car, which was sitting in the left-turn lane on westbound Rockville Road/U.S. 36. The driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet pickup, 64-year-old Terry Schultz, died at the scene.

Police say no one else involved in the crash was badly injured.
