Man in custody after robbery at leads to multi-county chase in Avon

AVON, Ind. (WISH) — Police say a man is in custody after leading officers on a multi-county pursuit Sunday afternoon after a robbery that started at the Texas Roadhouse in Avon.

Steve Barton, the deputy chief of investigations of the Avon Police Department, said officers believed the driver of the vehicle was involved in a robbery at a Texas Roadhouse off U.S. 36.

He said the pursuit began near Gable Crossing in Avon and ended at 10th Street and Belmont Avenue on the west side of Indianapolis when the suspect crashed. Barton described the end of the pursuit as a “property damage crash.”

No injuries were reported and Barton said no police vehicles were involved in the crash.

Information on the suspect has yet to be released.
