A release sent by Marion County Corner around 10 a.m. Sunday confirms that the woman has been identified. Her name has not yet been released.

Our hearts are with her loved ones as they begin to navigate this profound loss, and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Coroner’s Office is asking the public’s help to identify the body of a female pedestrian who was hit and killed just after midnight on New Year’s Day.
Upon arriving at the scene near the intersection of West 10th Street and North Bauman Street, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were met with the driver who reported he was traveling eastbound on West 10th Street when a female pedestrian crossed southbound, not within a marked crosswalk.
He was the one who called 911.
The woman is described as white, in her early 20’s with dark brown hair, with blue braids throughout. She has several distinctive tattoos, including:
- A heart on her face
- A “J” tattoo on the right forearm depicting a red outlined heart connected to a black electrocardiogram (heartbeat) line, Beneath the design are Roman numerals reading
