Maryland woman hits $100K jackpot with scratch-off gift from mom
LINTHICUM, MD – A routine lottery gift turned into a life-changing moment for one Prince George’s County woman who hit the $100,000 top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off her mother gave her.
The lucky winner, one of five adult children, received a $10 Ice scratch-off ticket from her mother, a regular lottery player. Each sibling got a ticket, but only one walked away six figures richer. The winning ticket was purchased at Camp Meade Shell, located at 463 North Camp Meade Road in Linthicum.
At home when she scratched the ticket, the daughter uncovered a matching number 14 — and below it, the stunning $100,000 prize. She double-checked her win by scanning the ticket with the Maryland Lottery app and confirmed the unexpected windfall.
While the woman’s identity has not been released, she told lottery officials that she plans to use the money to buy a new home. She also shared her love for good food, especially soul food and Italian dishes.
