A retired Prince George’s County police officer said a routine morning check of his lottery numbers turned into a career-high payout this week, after a $4 ticket matched all five numbers in Maryland’s Bonus Match 5 drawing. The man, a frequent lottery player, claimed a $50,015 prize Monday in Baltimore, calling the win the largest he has ever recorded.

BALTIMORE, MD – The winning ticket was purchased at a Royal Farms store at 100 Monument Avenue in Oxon Hill, earning the retailer a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket. “He’s a frequent player,” lottery officials noted, and the winner confirmed his regular participation across multiple games. “Over the course of a month I bet that I play every game that you have,” he said. “And I’ve been pretty lucky. Lots of wins.”
