Maryland Man Arrested in 2002 Disappearance of Wife, Charged with First-Degree Murder

TOWSON, MD — A 23-year-old missing person case has led to a murder charge after Baltimore County police arrested a husband in connection with his wife’s 2002 disappearance, authorities announced Tuesday.

Dwight “DJ” Rust Jr. was indicted by a grand jury on April 20, 2026, on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Michelle Rust, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
