Miami (OH)’s undefeated season ends, losing to Massachusetts

CLEVELAND (WISH) — No. 20 Miami (OH)’s undefeated run ended on Thursday, losing to Massachusetts, 87-83, in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament.

Miami (OH) started the season 31-0, completing an undefeated regular season, but were not able to make it to March Madness undefeated.

The 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers remain the last D1 men’s college basketball team to complete an undefeated season, going 32-0 and winning the national championship.

Brant Byers led the RedHawks in scoring in the loss with 17 points. Carmel native Peter Suder had 10 points and Fishers native Justin Kirby had six points off the bench.
