Deadly Baltimore shooting leaves one man dead, another fighting for life

BALTIMORE, Md. — A late-night shooting in West Baltimore turned deadly after gunfire left one man dead and another critically wounded, police said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just before midnight Tuesday in the 300 block of North Gilmore Street, where they found a 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the University of Maryland Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

As police investigated the scene, a second victim — a 44-year-old man — showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition.

Homicide detectives are now working to determine what led to the shooting.
