Man shot, police dog injured in Morgan County police shooting
MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A police shooting in rural Morgan County happened just after 1 p.m. Monday on Belt Lane near Patton Lake.
The Morgan County sheriff says deputies responded to an intruder inside a home. He says a police dog named Bullet was sent in.
The sheriff says the intruder hit the dog several times with an object, knocking out the dog. The sheriff says that’s when officers fired at the man, hitting him.
Medics took him to a hospital, and the sheriff gave no word on the man’s condition or his name.
The police dog was taken to an animal hospital, and the sheriff says the K-9 is doing OK.
