Mount Vernon’s Luke Ertel named Indiana Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year

FORTVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Mount Vernon senior guard Luke Ertel received a major honor on Friday, being named the Indiana Gatorade Boys basketball Player of the Year.

Ertel is averaging 24.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game this season with the Marauders.

Ertel has helped lead Mount Vernon to their second straight regional championship. The Marauders will face Decatur Central on Saturday in the semi-state semifinals at 10 a.m. in New Castle.

Ertel is committed to play at Purdue next season.
