NECSD Distributes 100 Turkeys to Needy Families

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Free Academy high school students teamed up with community members last week to distribute a Thanksgiving giveaway filled with seasonal foods and fresh vegetables.

Over 100 Turkeys were distributed in addition to the seasonal foods and fresh vegetables.
The food items were provided through our Family and Community Engagement Pop-up School Pantry, in partnership with the Regional Foodbank of the Hudson Valley, and the Children’s Food Programs department.

Reusable bags donated by HealthFirst and 100 bags of Fresh Produce donated by Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

YAP/SNUG supported the event by helping with distribution and providing additional turkeys and seasonal sides.
