New Mexico celebrates 114th anniversary of statehood

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — It's a happy birthday to the Land of Enchantment. The state of New Mexico was officially declared a U.S. state 114 years ago on Tuesday. New Mexico became the 47th state in the union on Jan. 6, 1912. This makes it one of the youngest states, followed by Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii.
