NYPD searching for suspect in robbery of teen at Bronx subway station

Bronx, NY – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred last week at the East 161st Street subway station.

According to the NYPD, the incident took place around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. A 15-year-old boy was standing on the platform when an unidentified individual approached him from behind, pushed him, and forcibly removed a gold chain from his neck.

The suspect fled the station on foot immediately after the robbery and has not been located. The victim was not injured.
