BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) — Before Officer Brian Elliott’s visitation Sunday, there was a flag presentation ceremony held at Beech Grove High School.
Police officers stood as Beech Grove Grove Police Chief, Michael Maurice said, “In a nation of laws, patriotism knows no greater champion that that which is found in a police officer. Boldly standing the line separating peace from anachary.”
The funeral is scheduled for Monday at Beech Grove High School with a procession to following ending at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Elliott was fatally shot Monday afternoon while responding to a violent domestic call involving Kenneth T. Johnson and his girlfriend, an Indiana State Police trooper’s report to Marion Superior Court 20 revealed Tuesday.
Elliott, 33, a member of the Beech Grove Police Department since September 2024, died at Eskenazi Hospital, the department’s chief announced just before 9:30 p.m. Monday.
