MOORESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — An on-duty Mooresville police officer fatally struck a pedestrian standing in the road late Friday night, investigators say.
The Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department says the accident happened around 11:10 p.m. Friday.
It was not clear what circumstances led up to the accident or where the accident took place; the department only said the pedestrian was in the roadway when they were hit.
Morgan County’s Serious Crash Investigations Team is reviewing the crash while Mooresville PD conducts a “parallel internal investigation to ensure the officer was operating within department procedure.”
