$20 scratch-off turns into $1M win for Kissimmee man

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Central Florida man turned a $20 lottery ticket into a $1 million payday after hitting a top prize in a popular scratch-off game.

Rafael Arciniegas Rosario, 59, of Kissimmee, claimed the $1 million prize from the GOLD RUSH LEGACY game, according to the Florida Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at a RaceTrac located at 6803 Conway Road in Orlando.

Lottery officials said Rosario chose to take the one-time lump sum payment of $640,000 before taxes.

The GOLD RUSH LEGACY game, launched in April 2024, features multiple top prizes, including several worth $10 million and $1 million.

Scratch-off games remain one of the most popular lottery options in Florida, offering players a wide range of prize amounts and frequent winners.
