EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WISH ) — A pedestrian died early Monday after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 69, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called just before 12:15 a.m. Monday to the crash west of the State Road 662 and Covert Avenue exit, which sits near the border of Evansville. They found a white Ford Edge SUV in the median and the pedestrian lying near the shoulder of the road.

Emergency responders said the pedestrian died at the crash scene.

The SUV driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, submitting to a chemical test as required by state law. Deputies did not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collisi...
