Person dead, another critical after shooting on Central Avenue

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person has died and another was in critical condition after a shooting Friday night on the near-north side of Indianapolis, police said.

Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a report of a person shot and an unsafe gunshot scene at 8:10 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Central Avenue. That’s in a housing addition north of a gas station at the intersection of East 32nd Street and Central Avenue.

Details on what may have led to the shooting, if the shooter is known, and whether the area was safe were not immediately available from IMPD.
