Town of Plainfield announces new fire station
PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — The town of Plainfield announced plans for a new fire station to be built at the corner of Quaker Boulevard and East County Road 750 South in a Tuesday release. That’s about one mile south of I-70.
Fire Station 124 will be 23,600 square feet and have four fire truck bays. There will be 12 individual bunkrooms to will allow each room to be alarmed individually so only required firefighters will be notified during overnight hours.
The location was selected to improve response times to the southwest portion of the Plainfield Fire Territory, especially the expanding Echo Hollow Nature Preserve and places south of I-70.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
