San Diego police officers were reportedly shot at during their response to a welfare check in Normal Heights on Monday, resulting in a SWAT team being called in, investigators said.
The incident was first reported around 3:30 p.m. when officers received a call about someone experiencing medical distress on 40th Street near Meade Avenue, Officer Colin Steinbroner said.
