BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Two people have been arrested following an 89-mile, high-speed pursuit Tuesday morning in Monroe County.

27-year-old Geonovan Bailey and 25-year-old Tiona Monie Sullivan of Evansville were both arrested and charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of meth, and obstruction of justice; all low-level felonies.

Senior Trooper Jeremy Cox pulled over a blue 2022 Chevrolet Silverado for driving 83 mph in a 65-mph zone on I-69, near the interchange of Tapp Road. The driver refused to stop and continued south on I-69, reaching speeds over 100 mph.

According to a release from Indiana State Police, troopers saw the driver and passenger throw out a “substance” multiple times from the inside of the truck.

Police slowed the truck down with a tire-deflating device and then used a precision immobilization technique where the truck was forced to turn 180 degrees, causing it to stall and stop.

When troopers searched the truck, they found a small amount of suspected meth.
