Potholes to come as snow melts away

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Snow melt finally will pick up this week in central Indiana with above-freezing afternoons.

As we get rid of the snow, potholes will increase across the state.

Indianapolis has had 15 days in a row of snow depth of 4 inches or more for the first time since 2014. All of the snow stretches back to the Jan. 25-26 winter storm.

Snow melt, or any day with rain, allows water to seep through cracks. Water pools under the surface of the road.
