Record number run in 11th Circle City Donut Dash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Teachers’ Treasures says a record number of people registered for the 2026 Circle City Donut Dash 5K on Saturday.

Now in its 11th year, the annual run raises money to help get school supplies to teachers and their students.

Teachers’ Treasures didn’t have an exact amount of money raised available early Saturday. However, according to organizers, every dollar raised provides $15 worth of supplies.

Executive Director Margaret Sheehan says more than 1,400 people signed up for the race.

“It’s very exciting that the weather is unbelievably great,” Sheehan said. “It’s also amazing that this neighborhood here on the near east side is so accommodating to this race.”

The race course went through the Factory Arts District and the Windsor Park neighborhood on the near east side. Teachers Treasures has called the neighborhood home since 2007.

Saturday’s race included a regular 5K race and a Donut Challenge in which participants ran the normal race, but stopped halfway to eat a dozen donut holes before finishing the second half.
