INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Former Colts safety Nick Cross is signing a two-year contract worth up to $14 million with the Washington Commanders.
Cross has started every game for the Colts the last two seasons. He had 266 tackles across the two seasons, ranking second on the team in tackles in both seasons.
In 2025, he had 120 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss, five passes defended, and an interception.
Cross had played all four seasons of his career with the Colts. He was drafted in the third round (No. 96 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Colts also traded linebacker Zaire Franklin to the Packers this offseason. Franklin and Cross were the Colts two leading tacklers in each of the past two seasons.
The Colts have added to the defense with the signings of edge rusher Arden Key and defensive tackle Michael Clemons.
