Ocean County, NJ – A small shelter dog named Happy has been transferred out of the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility and into a rescue partner’s care, marking what staff described as a “freedom ride” and a turning point after a stressful shelter stay.

Happy was recently moved to Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary, a rescue organization that focuses on providing care and placement for vulnerable dogs. Shelter officials said the dog had shown signs of fear and stress while in the facility, which contributed to behavioral challenges.
