Roundhouse Roundup: Final few days of 2024 session, electronic IDs

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The 2024 legislative session will end at Noon on Thursday, meaning lawmakers only have a few more days left to get legislation passed. Now that it's crunch time, debates will likely be focused on the big-topic bills on the House and Senate floors. But some committees will still meet to discuss bills, like a proposal to allow electronic driver's licenses.

Monday, lawmakers in the House Taxation and Revenue Committee are scheduled to debate Senate Bill 88. The proposal is being sponsored by Sen. Roberto "Bobby" J. Gonzales (D-Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, and Taos Counties) and Rep. Harry Garcia (D-Bernalillo, Cibola, McKinley, San Juan, Socorro, and Valencia Counties).
