SB I-69 reopens near Fishers after person hit, killed

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A fatal accident closed all lanes of southbound I-69 near Fishers for more than four hours on Thursday, with drivers forced to take alternate routes during the morning rush.

The incident happened around 5:10 a.m. near the ramp for 116th Street/State Road 37.

Indiana State Police say a person was struck by multiple vehicles and did not survive.

That person has not been identified.

The interstate reopened to traffic around 9:30 a.m.
