MLK Day of Youth Service with Seeds of Caring

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Families in central Indiana on Monday honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by giving back.

Many turned the federal holiday into a day on, not a day off, to take part in service projects or community celebrations.

At the Madam Walker Legacy Center, children from age 2 to 12 learned that even small hands make a big difference. “I like decorating stuff a lot. I love drawing and painting and decorating different things.” said participant Zeke Mislan.

“We made badges and got books and then made thankful cards for what we’re thankful for,” said participant Asha Brackett.
