Cleveland man hits $1 million jackpot on $50 scratch-off ticket
Cleveland, OH – A Cleveland resident is $500,000 richer after scoring the top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $50 Billion scratch-off game, turning a routine stop into a life-changing windfall.
Volodymyr Mykhailytsia won the game’s $50,000-a-year-for-20-years top prize and chose the one-time cash payout of $500,000. After 26.75 percent in state and federal taxes, his final prize amount came to $366,250.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Sheetz #801 on Brookpark Road in Cleveland. The Billion scratch-off game offers players a shot at more than $1 billion in total cash payouts, with odds of winning any prize set at 1 in 4.10.
As of last week, two top prizes and 47 second-tier prizes remain unclaimed in the high-stakes ticket, which is one of the most lucrative instant games ever launched by the Ohio Lottery.
