SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A Shelbyville resident was formally charged Friday with a mid-level felony count of aggravated battery in connection to a shooting 11 days earlier, according to online court records and a news release from the Shelbyville Police Department.
Dakota Kent Rose also faces a low-level felony count of battery by means of a deadly weapon; a low-level felony count of intimidation; and two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass, and distribution of an intimate image. He was arrested Friday before being formally charged in Shelby Superior Court 2.
The release said Shelbyville police on Dec. 22 responded to a report of an injured male, who had suffered a gunshot wound in “the unit block” of West Franklin Street. The release did not name the injured male, or provide what time that the report was made. No additional details were provided on the condition of the injured male, or whether he received medical treatment at the scene.
Details on what may have led to the shooting nor Rose’s age were included in the release. Court documents on the case were not immediately available online to News 8 on Friday night.
