Shoplifter charged after breaking store clerk's leg, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A store clerk who tried to stop a shoplifter sustained a serious leg injury after being assaulted by the suspect, according to an arrest report.

The incident unfolded on Feb. 4 at approximately 7:46 p.m. at a Circle K located in the 1000 block of Murfreesboro Pike.

According to authorities, the suspect — identified as 50-year-old Mitchell Brown— was shoplifting cases of Corona beer when he was confronted by the store clerk.
