Hogsett, city officials hold presser ahead of weekend winter storm

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — First responders and doctors on Friday warned people to take below-freezing temperatures and an anticipated winter storm seriously.

Brandon Perry, a spokesperson with Madison Township Fire Department in Camby suggested people check on their neighbors, family and friends to assure everyone is OK. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department provided these tips to help people stay safe:

  • Limit time outdoors and dress in layers, including hats and gloves.  
  • Cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite.  
  • Bring pets inside.
  • Check on neighbors, especially the elderly.
