Strong finish propels Blue over Gold in annual Southern University football spring game

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Jaguar fans got their first look at the football program under the stewardship of head coach Terrence Graves at the annual Blue and Gold Spring Game Saturday afternoon.

The Blue team, offense, took down the Gold team, defense, by a final score of 69-44.

Southern returned almost all of its coaching staff from a year ago, but with the arrival of new offensive coordinator Mark Fredericks, also came a new offensive system. The lack of familiarity showed early as all three quarterbacks struggled to cross midfield in the early stages of the game.

Yet, as the game went on, junior Noah Bodden along with redshirt-freshmen Jalen Woods and Czavian Teasett flipped the switch. Each quarterback finished with a pair of touchdowns and made their case for the starting job.
