Student arrested after firearm found at North Central High School

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A North Central High School student was arrested Thursday for allegedly bringing a gun to school.

In an email to district families, Washington Township Schools Communications Manager Ellen Rogers said s firearm was recovered by police, but “at no point was it brandished or used to threaten any students or staff.”

Rogers said police were only able to recover the firearm because someone reported it to staff.

“As a reminder, it is the shared responsibility of students, staff and families to ensure that our school continues to be a safe place to grow and learn,” she said.

The student in possession of the firearm was arrested and referred to the Marion County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
