The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has reported an increase in bird deaths due to H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), a bird flu that is widespread in wild birds and poultry, with the majority of mortalities detected in southwest Louisiana.
