Man shot dead inside Northeast DC home just after midnight
WASHINGTON, DC – A man was gunned down inside a Northeast DC home early Wednesday morning in a deadly shooting that unfolded just minutes after midnight, launching a homicide investigation that’s now underway.
Shortly after 12 a.m., Fourth District officers responded to a residence on the 1300 block of Varnum Street NE after reports of gunfire. Inside, they found 18-year-old Malik Moore suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews rushed Moore to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.
