INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Love Bug, a cozy new eatery known for its heartfelt comfort food, has opened its doors at the Garage Food Hall in Indianapolis.

Abby Ripberger, the founder and owner, started The Love Bug after a life-changing moment with her son, Hank, in 2019. At 7, Hank was hospitalized with a serious case of rheumatic heart disease caused by untreated strep throat.

“It was terrifying,” Ripberger said. “I left my corporate job to focus entirely on caring for Hank. That’s when I began prepping meals every week, trying to make healthy, homemade food that felt like a warm hug.”
